Suggestions

I think that you need at least 4 times the amount of B-Roll that you have to your actual interview time Ex: 10 min video 30-40 min of B-Roll

Interview your person and other staff members.  People will always want to hear good things about the person coming from another person.

I would get better b-roll, or plan my interview around what b-roll I could actually get.

If I could do it over I would probably be more prepared on the question’s that I asked and go more in-depth with the questions, I would also get her to speak a little bit louder.

Suggestions

            Be prepared for anything

Don’t be scared to tell them what to do

Dig deep into it, get to know the person really well so other people will know them as well as you do

If I could do it over, I would make sure Mrs. Lockner would rephrase the question into a sentence. Even though I asked her to in the beginning, she might have forgotten.

Suggestions: use rule of thirds; don’t center your person in the middle of the shot

Get the teacher to move around a lot.

Have another person in your video to back up your opinions and the questions.

If I could do it over I would have done the interview process a lot better.

Suggestions:  Make sure you have your interviewee answer the questions in complete sentences; it will make everything a lot easier.  Make sure no ones being obnoxious in the background.

If I could do it over I would ask different questions.

Suggestions:  get a lot of b-roll.  Ask different questions not just questions such as “how many years have you taught?” And have the person re-stating the question at the beginning of their answer.

What I would have done different

I would have gotten better b-roll, I would have had possibly a better ending (I think it is good).

Suggestions to students

Interview first and listen to what they say and then get the b-roll on what they have told you in the interview.  Make sure to find something interesting about the person you are doing

If I could do it over I would get better b-roll, interview more outside sources, make sure to get rid of background noise, and think of more questions.

Pick a good subject to interview and choose a solid angle that easy to work with when you interview your subject.

I could of done a better job with the interview my interview was pretty bad. Also maybe added a few transitions.

I would suggest doing the interview before the B-roll. Also a good interview is important.

I would get b-roll that fit my presentation better, even though it’d still be difficult.  I would also try to get her to answer more of her questions in full sentences.

If I could give any suggestions to future students, I would tell them to make sure they got their projects done, and to speak clearly when recording audio.  Make sure your project tells a story.

I should have had better lighting, less background noise/talking, and more questions, length

Ask more questions than needed and obtain more b-roll than needed

If I could do it over I would have him answer the questions in full sentence using the question in it.  Sound needs to be better, and camera not so shaky for some of my b-roll.

Next year I suggest that kids take time and get more b-roll.  Also make sure you are close enough for the sound to be good, use a tripod at all times no matter what!!!!!

Bad Points

Future Students

If I could do it over I would Get my interview in earlier and choose a diff location then the computer room and ask more in depth questions

My suggestions for students next year don’t procrastinate

What I would do over is about every thing

I suggest Keep it organized

Shoot more b roll then you think you need.

Come to the interview prepared with questions.

Don’t put the video off and get it done.

I did not shoot very steady video, and most of my b-roll was shaky, so I had to sift through that.

If I could do over, I would find the largest tripod that I could find, and try and shoot steadier video.

If I could do it over I would ask more questions and have her explain more in depth.
