1. Create the following spreadsheet in Excel

2. Use
http://weather.com and collect the weather conditions for the following
places:
1. Brandon, SD
2. Howard AFB, Panama, Central America
3. City of your choice in Central America
4. Manta, Ecuador, South America
5. City of your choice in South America
6. Sydney, Australia
7. City of your choice in Canada
8. City of your choice in Europe
9. City of your choice in Asia
10. City of your choice in Africa
3. Formatting:
Title: font size =18, Bold
Column Headings: center and bold
Font Style: your choice, just not the default, apply to all cells
Border: apply a bottom border under row 2 of your choice of style and
color (not the default)
Center the information in the columns of Temperature, Humidity, Sunrise and
Sunset
4. Formulas
a. In cell A15 type in Number of Cities:
in cell B15 put a formula to count the number of
cities
b. In cell A16 type Average Temperature: in
cell B16 put a formula to average the temps and round your answer to 0 decimals
c. In cell A17 type Average Humidity: in cell B17
put a formula to average the humidity and round your answer to 0 decimals
5. Apply conditional formatting
for the following situations:
a. Temperature less than 50: change font to bold and blue, red fill
b. Humidity greater than 65: format your choice
6. Sort the information by Country (ascending) then by City (descending)
7. Place your name in cell A20
8. Landscape and make sure that all information fits properly.
9. Create the following Charts
Chart #1 - Chart the city and the temperature as a
clustered bar with a 3-D visual
effect.
a. Move chart location to a new sheeted called Temperature
b. Chart Title: above the chart - City Temperature-format to size 18 and
blue
c. Axis Title: Horizontal-Temperature - format to
size 14 and green
d. Axis Title-Vertical - City - format to size 14
and red
e. No legend
f. Place ALL the bars in a gradient with two colors of your choice.
Chart #2 - Chart the city, temperature, and
humidity as a column with a clustered column chart. Make sure the names of
the series are correct.
a. Move chart location to a new sheet called Temp and Hum
b. Chart Title-above the chart-City Temperature and Humidity - format to
size 18 and green
c. Axis Title-Horizontal - City - font size 14 and yellow
d. Axis Title-Vertical-Measurement - font size 14 and blue
e. Place legend at bottom
f. Temperature bar-red
g. Humidity bar-blue
STOP - DO NOT DO THIS CHART!!!!!
Chart #3 - Chart the city,
sunrise and sunset times as a line chart with marker. Highlight
only the sunrise and sunset times. Then select the line chart with marker
type of chart.
a. Move chart location to a new sheet called Sunrise
b. On the Sunrise chart, right click and click on Select Data. On
the right side under "Horizontal Axis
Labels" click "Edit". Click on Sheet 1 and highlight the names of the cities.
c. On the left side under "Legend Entries", select Series 1 and click "Edit". Change
the name of the series to the appropriate label.
d. On the left side under "Legend Entries", select Series 2 and click "Edit". Change the
name of the series to the appropriate label.
e. Chart Title-above chart-Sunrise and Sunset - format to size 18
and orange
f. Axis Title-Primary Horizontal-Title below-City - format to size
14 and green
g. Axis Title-Primary Vertical - Time - format to size
14 and blue
h. AM marker-triangle-size 8-choose a color
i. AM line - dotted-size 3-same color as AM marker
j. PM marker-diamond-size 9-choose a color
k. PM line- dashed-size 3-same color as PM marker, smoothed line
