Course Description: 

This course is designed to give students an understanding of the MS Office package.  Some work will be done in  Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Movies as well as integration capabilities.  Web 2.0 tools will be implemented as well.  A basic understanding of scanners and digital cameras will be introduced.

Expectations:

    Student:

        ~Be prepared for class.  You will need a pen, pencil, planner.

    Teacher:

        ~Respect with students, technology.

        ~Provide an atmosphere where students can succeed.

        ~Be prepared for class with active learning.

 

Homework
~There is some homework from time to time.  You may be asked to complete an assignment before class starts the next day.  Everyone works at different paces.  You may need to come in outside of class to keep caught up on projects. 

Evaluation:

~All assignments will be given a due date.  If an assignment has not been turned in, the student will be given a reasonable amount of time to turn the assignment in late.  Late work grades are entered as a "0" (zero) grade.  If the assignment is turned in within a reasonable amount of time, full credit will be given for the assignment and the "0" grade will change.  If the assignment is not turned in within a reasonable amount of time, the grade for the assignment will be reduced accordingly.   There are some assignments where this policy does not hold true.  There are some assignments where the due date is not negotiable.

~The District Grading Scale will be used in this class.

A = 95-100 B+ = 89-91 C+ = 80-82 D+ = 71-73 F = 0-64
A- = 92-94 B =  86-88 C = 77-79 D  = 68-70  
  B- = 83-85 C- = 74-76 D- = 65-67  

 

Semester Test
~A timed test consisting of four individual projects makes up the semester test.  The grade for the semester test is determined by not only the quantity of work completed but also the quality of the work completed.

Cheating
~Severity of punishment determined by teacher and administrator.

Attendance

~When returning to class, check with the instructor to receive assignment(s) for day(s) missed.

~Students that are in class the days prior to a test will be required to take the test.  If you miss the day before a test and we did not cover any new material, you will be required to take the test.

 

Tardy

~Students must be in the classroom when the tardy bell rings.  If you are with another teacher, please have a pass from the teacher you were with.

 

Miscellaneous

~In order to leave the room, you must have your planner and sign out.

~Use the recycle cans when throwing away paper.

~Push chairs in at the end of the class.

~Keep the work area around your computer tidy.

~Place books back where they belong. 
~Do not work on other homework during class.

 

Computer Rules

~There will be no food, candy, or drink in the classroom.  Please respect the equipment.

~Do not download any programs, games, etc. from the Internet.
