Animals Around the World - Pages
Step 1
-Open the file "Animals Around The World" from the shared drive/Computer
1/Pages/Miscellaneous Folder.
-Save this file to your folder.
Step 2: Collect information about the animals. You will need a
picture of the animal and you will need to know the country where the animal
lives.
-Click on the name of the animal below. The link will take you to a
web site that contains pictures and information about each animal's natural
habitat. You may need to search the web site.
-Copy a picture of the animal and paste it onto the word document in the
cell directly below the name of the animal. Change the size of the picture
to be no bigger than 1.5". You will need to cite the picture.
-Read through the information on the website and find out where the
animal lives. In the 2nd box below the name of the animal, type in the
country or continent where you can find this animal living.

2. King Penguin
3. Okapi
4. Aardvark
5. Ruffed Lemur
6. Wallaroo
7. Bison
8. Black Rhinoceros
9. Green Tree Python
10. Pygmy Marmoset
11. Rock Hyrax
12. Capybara
Step 3: Can't find an animal? See your teacher.
Step 4: Stop and show your teacher what you have done before going on.
Step 5: Format the heading of the table. (center, bold,
larger, color)
Step 6: Format all the borders on the table - you choose how they look
Step 7: Bold the names of all the animals
Step 8: Fill in the cell with the name of the animal with a color of your
choice
Step 9: Center the text and pictures in each of the cells.
Step 10: Stop and show your teacher what you have done before going on.
Step 11: Create a new document and change the orientation of
the document to landscape.
Step 12: Insert the picture of the World Map found on the shared drive/Computer
1/Pictures folder. Size the map to be 6.50" high. (Arrange tab to
change size)
Step 13: Draw a text box and place the name of the animal inside the text
box. Size the text box to fit the text. Center the text in the box.
Format the text box (change border and fill with a light color).
Step 14: Move the text box close to the region/country where the animal
lives.
Step 15: Draw an arrow (insert menu - line) from the text box to the region/country on the map
where the animal lives. Format the arrow (change to a dark color, change
weight, change dash style).
Step 16: Continue adding textboxes and arrows for each animal.
Arrows cannot cross. All textboxes and arrows must be
formatted.
Step 17: Show your teacher when you get done.
